Our History
McNamara Contractors were established in 1972 by Tom and Carmel McNamara. The company was formed in Luton Bedfordshire but later moved to Southampton in 1976. We relocated to our current premises in Romsey in 1994, where we have a spacious property comprising offices, workshop and large storage facilities.
We are a family focused team; our Managing Director Brendan McNamara joined the company in 1989 although Tom continued to be MD until 2015. Noëlle joined the firm in 2005 and took over the role of Company Secretary in 2015.
Tom McNamara, Proprietor
"Carmel and I founded McNamara Contractors from scratch in 1972 with nothing to fall back on and it grew rapidly in the ‘70s and ‘80s. There were good times and hard times, but we kept trading through four recessions and we have always been very proud of the high quality work we have produced. We have the most dedicated workforce, a credit to us, and most of our employees have been with us for many years and are considered good friends."
